MHD Flasher

Hi,
does anyone know the cost of the monitoring module on MHD flasher?

Anyone using the maps?

Thanks

Managed to find it.

$69

I have the back end flash version. $79, I think it was.

I'd skip the monitoring module personally, seems crazy expensive for what it does. I use MHD for the flashing but the JB4 app for the monitoring and logging.

I have an old android phone I keep in the car for it, seems to work a treat.

And I'm using the JB4 backend pump flash map, not the MHD maps.

I use the MHD and the JB4 app the same as AndyN. I usually use the pump flash and have just started switchin to the Race map for w'end fun 😉. It's way to use and pretty straight forward to install. The maps are nice and smooth & driveable but you do need to log and check things regularly to be on the safe side.

Cheers lads,
so basically I have been using a JB4 for probably a year now. I've been running the Race flash mostly and the E85 flash at the moment modified for the Euro cars and DCT box. I use E85 when adding ethanol in conjunction with meth and running at drag strips.

I contacted Ken A. to see about getting a Wedge flash to take the car to another level but he said I needed the monitoring module in MHD to log and do tuning. JB4 logs aren't good enough apparently. Maybe it's just because of the flash/piggyback wars? It may be that it was assumed I was asking for a flash tune and not a BEF.

Anyway my car runs really well on the current back end flashes. 20lbs boost, perfect timing on all 6 cylinders. I'm not sure how much further any flash could take the car to be honest. Plus some comments say wedge flashes are a bit harsh on the car and risky. Pushing hardware to the limits.

The thing with the MHD monitoring is that I don't think the module can run without the JB4 being turned off or the wiring harness modified (as per Terry's post on JB4 for monitoring only). I use my JB4 for logging and real time gauges with the mobile app. As I have my JB4 running my boost and meth flow, I'm pretty happy with my setup. It's really just if things like Vanos settings and other things I don't fully understand can improve my car's performance.

if you really want to tune over 20 psi, MHD with mboost is your best option

for most street cars that's more than we really need... but when has that stopped any of us?

It's not that I want higher boost. 20 psi is the most I can expect my stock turbos and pressure sensor to take, plus I worry about my transmission.

It's more that it may be possible to improve performance through tuning other factors available in the DME with a flash which general back end flashes don't do as well as they could.

MHD definitely has more adjustable parameters than Cobb

I've been using tuner pro and the stuff in there is amazing, plus the xdfs keep getting updated mapping more and more features in the DME.

I can't even figure out how to find an xdf

Well mate,
you'll want to head over to N54Tech

Look for the thread in the N54 section. Have a good read of this thread:

"Custom BMS flashes for your Euro-spec N54"

That shows you how to mod a flash file in tuner pro. Download tuner pro for free. European cars have slightly different tables for tuning to US models.

Download the flash file and xdf from this thread:

"Sticky: *********** N54 free flash tuning"

Many of the experts also have their own XDFs with more tables defined which you can search for on the forum.

Have fun. There's so much in there. I don't know 95% of it

Or I know what it does but I dare not change it in case something goes bang. Haha.
