Anyone used BMW Genuine Touchup Paint?

Hi guys..Yesterday on a motorway I got hit by a stone. Huge hit! Checked the car this morning where is the damage. It is just above the windscreen. I got a kit from bmw to match my colour, but I found it difficult to apply without either getting blobs or smearing. Any ideas?

From memory you usually apply the touch up with something like a tooth pick, then the lacquer (if it has it), and then wet and dry and polish the area.

Dr. Colorchip is what I use now. The BMW takes a bit to get it right.

don't use the brush in the kit best to buy a decent one form a model shop

The wet and dry and polish works, until you see the area under a decent artificial light or at a petrol station in the dark etc. I would advise this unless you have a machine polisher to totally remove the sanding marks.

I aint got the polishing machine lol
its not noticable now with the paint and laquer on

yeh if your going near it with wet and dry you need proper polish (like menzerna or 3m fast cut, G3 etc) and a machine polisher (or popeye arms).

The "consumer" polish products you buy at halfords etc just arent powerful enough.

I tried menzerna fg400 and the Popeye arms method in the past, no chance!
