Manual transmission oil for Canadian winter?

I called up BMW dealership and asked for their Manual tranny fluid, and they told me to get lost and didn't have it since its "lifetime".

So after that call, I've been researching the crap out of this and am wondering what you guys are using? OEM, Royal purple, Redline MTL?

I'll call another dealership to see if they carry any unless you guys tell me different. I'm gonna be doing my rear Differential and picked up Royal purple Max- Gear

Anyhoo let me know what ya guys think

EDIT: Sorry this is for my 6 speed 323i

I put Redline D6ATF in mine, and it shifted just fine in cold weather last winter. Drove it in -5° without a problem.

They told me in an email that either D6 or D4 is best suited for cold climates. Shoot them an email! Because I forget which one is the one they recommend for areas like where you live.

FWIW, the fluid that's in there is supposed to be "lifetime", so the dealer might warn you about how changing the fluid magically kills the warranty.

You can get a jug of the OEM fluid from Bavarian Autosports, but you might want smelling salts when you find out the price... I plan to use Redline for my next change, I used the OEM stuff the first two times while under warranty... Did it at 3500 and 30K miles.
