DIY Injector Replacement on N55
I did several searches for this and did not find the information I am seeking. Has anyone replaced their own N55 fuel injectors and what were the results?
Was BMW special tool 13 0 270 used to prevent damage to the injectors being removed from the engine? If not how were the OEM injectors removed? Did damage occur? Did you replace individual injectors, or just go for all 6? Did you replace with all new parts or with rebuilt OEM injectors? Did you replace with the new OEM injectors or the Bosch injectors offered for considerably less $ by parts suppliers such as Rock Auto? Currently the Bosch parts are offered for $85 each and the OEM are twice that price. I am presuming that all new injectors were registered using INCA. If this is not true, please explain. |

Bump, thinking about doing this as well. The dealer would want $3k+ to replace.
Also, if you hook your car up to INPA will it tell you which injector is bad? |

I took an injector out to replace my servomoter. I would suggest getting the special too so you dont break one in the head. I didn't replace the coupler and didn't have any problems, but with replacing all 6 i would suggest it. A buddy checked mine with I believe the Rhiengold program.
