Cargo Mat + Cargo Net?

Just bought the new Cargo Mat (Sport Line version) for my F36 from GetBMWparts.com. Part was fine...the box either took a beating from UPS or BMW to GBP..but regardless, the product was 100%. Dropped it in the back of my GC..fits perfectly of course. Question is ...anyone else who has one..did you cut holes in the mat so that you could utilize the cargo net when needed? I bought it because a wine cooler spilled onto the carpet about a month ago and I wasn't going to have that happen again.

Pretty sure all I'd have to do is cut the rubber where the 4 circles are embossed in the rubber...but was wondering if it'd been done before and what was the outcome before I hack up a $120 part I just got .

Thanks!

*And yes..the protective film is still on the polished pieces on the bottom of the screen

I thought about this too, but I haven't brought myself to do it. I was excited when the dealer threw in a net and a tray, but then bummed when I couldn't use them together.

Can't answer your question but have one for you. How do you access the storage underneath?

I have yet to remove the net from the dealer bag..but it'd be nice to strap stuff down so it doesn't move around. Best idea is probably a 3/4" hole saw (or whatever diameter the circle is) and make a nice, neat clean cut for them all. A utility knife would work but after spending $120 for the mat, I want it to look perfect after I customize it too. You'd think BMW would sell it with the holes pre-cut!

I cut our cargo mat to accommodate the cargo net hooks.

I have this one and it is solid. Doesn't slide around the trunk at all.

Correct. Measure 3 times, cut once. Bought my mat used so it was only $50 that I was hacking up.

I picked it up at Canadian Tire and it does not slip around at all...stays put on the rubber mat. It was called a Glovebox Trunk Organizer and can be opened to one compartment or two or completely folded up. Works perfectly for me...groceries, fluid containers, etc. It also holds a propane tank and doesn't tip over. There are numerous models/sizes available on amazon, etc. Cost me about $40 CDN. BMW's offering was not tall enough for my needs and too pricey.
