Best DISA repair parts?
At the prompting of the wise folks here, and the two codes my car threw that might be related, I am going to repair/replace the DISA parts on my car. A couple of questions that I seem to be unable to answer after a week of searching here and other forums:
I have a 2006 330i. A lot of what I read on the DISA is about the 325. But then I read that the 330 and 325 have very different intakes. Does this include the DISA? I am dizzy at the number of suppliers for this repair. I want to do it once and do it right. The $$ doesn't seem bad even for the most expensive kits, but the cheap kits are really cheap (price wise). Is there a consensus on which kit to buy for my particular car? Thanks guys!!! |

Hey DRB...There is some good content in the Naturally Aspirated engine section of the forum.
If you have a 330i 2006, your car should have two DISA valves. One is accessible as it on the outside of the manifold and one requires removing the intake manifold. It is not really a 325 v. 330 question... If you are certain the DISAs are causing the issue, I would consider buying nice used ones from a salvage yard or buying new ones. The repair kits for the newer disas are not like the e46 disa repair kits. |
