What is this fault code?!?!?

Hello guys...

I've owned a 2007 E93 330i (N53) for a few weeks and recently picked up an OBD cable and have scanned the car for faults with INPA. It's found five faults..... four of which were quite easy to identify as being a faulty nox sensor, but the last code has got me stumped.

This code is found in the EPS module... does EPS stand for electronic power steering??

Anyway, the fault code is D517...... (it's got a B0 in the next column along, but don't think this is relevant?).

I've searched and searched but can't find an explanation for this D517 faut code anywhere.

Do any of you know what this code relates to?? Or shed any light on it at all??

Thanks...

Return the cable and sleep better. If you are past the return period then clear the codes and see which will come back.

Cleared them all and they all came back.

The DME/DDE faults I understand... it's just this EPS - D517 code that is proving a pain in the a**.

Excellent. Well it's not, but thanks for decoding that. Out of interest how did you find that?

So could that be a problem with wheel sensors??
Just had the car in the garage the other day for a noise coming from the rear wheels. They stripped down the rear brakes/hubs etc and repositioned the dust shields as they were rubbing on the discs.

Possible damage caused to them causing this fault maybe.....??

Or am I barking up the wrong tree??
