Welcoming lights not working! 2010 e92
Anyone else have problems with their welcoming lights??
Mine all of the sudden just stopped working. First of all YES its in the automatic position YES it is marked ON in my I-drive YES my battery is the right voltage 12.5 on the dot and ~14 when the car is on The lights under the door handles still lights up Only lighting mods are LCI tails, lux angel eyes. (these were on the car for a while with no problem at all) I do have my corner lights coded to be off when the headlights are on if that helps.. but its been coded a while ago. Angels and tails light up with DRL just not upon unlocking. I drive a 2010 e92 335i **I have tried the hard reset trick, pulling the negative off the battery waiting ~20 minutes and putting it back on. With this method the welcoming lights will come on for only the first few times. and then its completely gone again. Anyone know what I can do? Its something minor but its bothering the shit out of me.. I do have extended warranty and my SA will not diagnose it until I return my lights back to stock and code it back to stock. Since he claims my lux angel eyes and lci taillights could be the problem. Which is complete bullshit.. (2010 is still prelci for e92's) Any input is appreciated.. Thanks. |

Voltage is not a good indicator as to battery performance. The only thing voltage really tells you is if the battery is charged and all the cells are ok.
However a charged battery may not be able to supply the current demand and that's why voltage is not a good indicator as to battery performance. A 2010 is nearing the 5 year mark. Assuming the battery is original, it's most likely on it's way out. Go to a local chain auto parts store and have the battery LOAD tested. The testing device will be able to tell you if the battery is able to supply the current it's rated for. |

Hmm. I have a 2010 I bought new. Just replaced the original battery on it last week after 5 years, 7 months, and 27 days.
One of the cells was dying even after giving it some charge time, but I didn’t notice anything strange with the welcome lights on mine. Comfort access worked fine and when using the key fob it worked fine too. Must be something else electrical that's buggin.

I have a 2010 E90 with original battery and my welcome lights work intermittently, usually only after I have been on a long drive. I also intermittently get a low battery warning so I had just assumed that it was battery related.
Just ordered an OBDII USB cable so I can do a battery registration and some coding, so will be replacing the old battery soon. I'll update once I do to say if the welcome light problem was fixed. |

What exactly is supposed to come on for the welcome lights?
I also have a 2010 e92 335i with LCI tails and Lux. Mine has been coded for LCI Tails. I can tell you if mine is working fine or if it has something to do with our year/model/FRM. |
