Angry Hail Damage! Boston

Hi all,

Pretty unhappy. Yesterday here in Boston a crazy storm blew through with golf ball sized hail. Unfortunately, my car was outside at the time. The roof is pretty hammered as are the trunk lid and hood. There is also some damage on the fender flares and various other panels. I just had the hood and front bumper resprayed too at one of the best shops in the northeast for high quality paintwork!!

I have Amica for insurance, and they are top notch so I don't expect any problems. Has any one else had hail damage? My concern is mainly with the roof since that's one part that can't really be replaced.

Thanks all

Pdr can do some pretty impressive things. The only issue I see is getting the dents pulled that are at the edge of any panel. Those are very difficult, if not impossible to fully repair.

My legacy that I have passed down to my dad got wrecked because my sister drove it thru the hail storm... I'm assuming 8k repair cost but we have liberty mutual not expecting problems either. Legit every panel is covered in dents.

hz_diesel it was a pretty crazy storm. glad and surprised no glass was broken. any broken glass in the legacy?

Wingnut335 PDR = paintless dent repair correct? I don't know much about the procedure, but fingers crossed it can work some magic on my roof. Meeting the assessor tomorrow.

Luckily no broken glass but the window accents were dented as well as the weather lining haha. I'm taking it in Friday to get it appraised.

I was lucky and went straight to the gym after work and missed the storm. Hopefully you didn't get too bad of a hit. I know a few people with brand new cars that got dented. I did however watch a 4x4 go over a curb into a stop light from a red light o.o. Me and my friend thought he was being a badass and busting a u turn... Nope. I'll post a picture tomorrow.

I'm in Oklahoma where hail is a way of life. PDR can work magic in most circumstances unless it's on a crease or if its in an area that can be accessed from the underside such as a double walled panel with no access to the damaged area.
I bought a used pickup that was really BEAT with hail. After I had it worked out you could never find any trace that it was damaged.

That was one nasty storm indeed. I am up in Maine for vacation and got trapped in the vehicle. Fortunately, I was not in my E90. I was however in my brand new 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. Took some ding/damage to hood and roof plus a windshield crack.
I was trapped in the car with my wife and baby just hoping the storm would end and that the glass roof held up. The hail where I got trapped was a max lime size with average size of golf balls.
I've never seen anything like that.

Good luck with your repair. I will be looking into my repair bill when I get back to NY next week. I have Travelers insurance. I also bought the Zurich protection plan for the Jeep and some other damage coverage plan with my lease so there is a chance I won't even have to go through my insurance.

Your car might be toast.

We had a major hail storm a couple years ago and there were care dealerships that had all their cars destroyed by hail. You simply cannot fix all those dents. Sorry man.

Yup... Paintless dent repair. Having a relationship with a PDR guy is worth it's weight in gold. You never know when someone will open a door or hit your car with a shopping cart.

Good luck with the damage assessment and the repairs.

That storm hit Cincinnati a few days ago on it's way east. I got my car into the garage about 2 mins before the hail started coming down.
