Akebono Brake Pad Suppliers ??

Can anyone recommend a supplier of Akebono Brake Pads (EUR918) ??

Akebono tell me there are no UK/European stockists. Crazy as their R&D dept is here !

I have done a bit of searching, plenty in the US, on Amazon & Ebay, but they have really bad feedback (for sending wrong parts etc) or want £80+ for shipping a set of pads to the UK !!

Any suggestions appreciated.

I was thinking about ordering some from this place on ebay as they ship to the UK:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Akebono-EU...ht_1130wt_1217

about £55 including the shipping so not too bad.

Thanks for info, this was one of the companies I found, but the 88 Negative Feedbacks bother me a little, majority being "received wrong part" & "wrong part sent, will not refund" !

Just a small rant, why do most things owners want for their 335's, have to come from the US with all the associated "problems" that presents, shipping costs, import duty, VAT, potential for shipping damage etc.

e.g. BMS Parts, Cobb, ETS, AR, etc, etc.

Why Akebono when there are plenty of OEM aftermarket alternatives?
What temperature range do the Euro pads have? Couldn't find any literature.

Do they have EU R90 approval? If not, that'll be why they're not for sale in Europe.

Thanks, just interested as to why people were going to the effort for akebono when there are plenty of easily available brands around. Personally stopping power is more important to me.

OEM pads are fine for road use, so why not have a car that stays cleaner longer.

OEM tyres are fine for road use. Standard power is fine for road use. That doesn't mean they can't be improved on.
OEM may be fine for you and your roads/driving but having come from other cars with better brakes id like better stopping power AND cleaner wheels. However if I was choosing between the two I'd have better stopping power every time. My wheels don't really get that dirty in which a weekly wash doesn't bring the up like new again.

To be clear. I don't have a problem with akebono, I never said they didn't stop well etc. I just wanted to understand the effort to get them as I had never considered them for my BMW.

Thanks for the interest/comments.

So I have bitten the bullet and ordered a set on ebay from the company with lots of negative feedback, had no choice really, lets hope all goes well, if not, that Paypal do their stuff !

£56.96, inc shipping, taxes, VAT, so price is good.

Finger Crossed !

Are there Akebono's available for the rears too? Are they also EUR918?
