DPF issue... Any software to force regen?

morning all - I did a scan of fault codes on my 330d last night using bmwhat app and got an error for particle filter system (004667). I haven't actually got an error in idrive or anything yet so I'm hoping this is the early stages and a forced regen will sort it.

Now for some reason when I tried to view the soot level using bmwhat app is crashed and since then I can't get it to connect to my car

Are there any other free to use laptop softwares out there that I could use to force a regen? Would they work using the bmwhat app cable?

DIS can read allsorts of information about the DPF, run a backpressure test, force a regen, etc
