Odd shifting in DS mode.

When I am at one speed cruising the car will basically shift up and down as if it does not know which way to shift. Giving throttle it shifts up fine and slowing it shifts down but holding one speed gets multiple shifts. I don't remember it doing that before I put the JB4 on. Anyone else have that kind of thing happen?

Do a AT fluid change and see if that helps.

My car has 25K miles on it...think it's really due for that? I still have warranty and don't think the dealer is going to do that since it is "lifetime"

It's like "if something wrong with your engine then replace spark plugs"

Does this occur at any speed you try to keep or just certain ones?
I've had a similar experience when I'm right at an RPM/speed level where it's programmed to shift. At times it hunts up and down to find the right combination. Especially on a long incline where the car would slow down on its own instead of braking.
This is pretty normal for an automatic.

I do not have JB4...

So far it seems to happen at 40 mph and 70 mph...I can hold those speeds and it will shift down...and then a few seconds later shift up. I guess I will have a foreman at the dealer drive with me...and if I have to have it at the dealer I suppose I will take jb4 off just in case...kind of a pain in the ass since I put the jb4 on a month ago. I e-mailed with jon@bms and he said jb4 has nothing to do with how the transmission worked but he said good idea to remove it so they don't blame any problems on that.

It's because of the preprogrammed shift points. My car with Alpina trans flash does it too. It's rather annoying actually so I just shift it into manual mode.

That's exactly it--it is annoying. The car runs fine but for cruising on the freeway the ds mode and its upshift and downshift thing gets on my nerves.

Just got back from dealer and test drive with a tech who confirmed the transmission is not working correctly and I have to bring it in next week. They said they have never seen a car do that as well. Guess I get to take jb4 off.
