Where do you keep your keys? - Warning sad photo alert

Well as I have a key cover / case for my car keys - prevents inadvertent operation of the tailgate.

Its pretty bulky and for same tailgate reason don't want to keep them in my pocket.

So I resorted to putting them in the cup holder.

They did rattle and little, also I hate marking inside of the car with things like keys or other stuff that scuffs or leaves long term wear.

Sooo, my darling wife seeing my plight, knitted me a little cosy for the cup holder.

Result, no noisy keys, they are nice and snug and happy :-)

PS, yes the ribbon may be a little too much ;-)

Sad, exceptionally, yet effective :-)

How much does she want for one? ;-) I put my keys in the same place, and a bottle in the other one which also rattles.

Oh dear!

This kind of negates the advantage of keyless start if you still have to take your keys out of your pocket and slot them in somewhere!

I take it the F30/F31 isn't like the loaner 118 I have at the minute in that you can just keep the key in your pocket?

Pmsl, that is soooooooooo wrong. A tea cosie for your keys !

2nd

Keys in pocket, yes it will work but it's bloody uncomfortable

As I was too tight to spring for the pack that gave me more that 1 12v socket I have to charge my phone in one of those two cup holders. I tend to put my reading glasses in to other. Started just dumping the keys and wallet in the side pouch. ( too tight for an iPhone and or holder too)

Rattles - if you can hear them your driving too slowly! The f30 was specifically designed to generate road noise from tyres and have piped engine noise to mask them but you do need to turn on too much noise mode to get the benefit

That's fucking awesome, and exactly the sort of thing my woman would do, I tend to just keep the key in my pocket though (which she has nick-named my handbag because I keep so much stuff in them).

Can she do a more manly option, maybe with an M badge, then we can get a group buy on the go.

In all seriousness I do like the idea. I use a beanie hat in the cup holder to cushion my keys.

You know there's more than 1 12v socket in all F3x's?

Ok, so I didn't read the manual but a tinternet search revealed an old post on here. Why put the second socket under the glove box, it's fecking useless there. Why not in the centre console so you can hide things in it.

Cheers btw, can you find me some hidden horses too? .

Lol, as mentioned this started with knowing the tailgate on the F31 can operate by accident.

Plenty have done it, I have while outside the car.

Because I have the dog in the back a lot, having the tailgate open up in a motorway traffic jam or at lights on a junction etc, is rather scary.

I used to just stuff a paper hanky in the cup holder and mentioned to darling wife it's a shame could not find something to go there.

I might get her to check out some EBII wool and have an Msport embroidered on

Next might be a winter beanie for the gear shifter
