Downloaded the iOS update, very limited functionality through the car, of online content at least, anyone had a different experience?

Havent tried yet but I wonder if we would need some sort of update from BMW for this to work as good as spotify/deezer/napster.

Due to the iOS 8.4 update, my 2014 M235i can no longer play music from my iPhone 5 to my car over bluetooth or USB. Seems to be a continual issue when Apple updates software, that BMW can't handle the change. Strange to me that the bottom of the barrel Toyota Corolla my dealership gave me as a lonaer had better iPhone connectivity than the $2000 tech package in my BMW.

To be fair, my 4/14 car with NBT works just fine for Spotify and regular music, it's just the new streaming service where I am disappointed. That's with a 5S

Same here. Lost all music functionality from my iPhone 6 with the latest 8.4 upgrade. Phone Bluetooth still works.

Edit: Nevermind! Got it resolved. Had to perform a hard reset (Home+power) and then reset the network settings on the device. (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings)

I'm not having the same problem, I can access all my playlists including the radio streams via idrive. However, I'm having an issue where beats 1 drops connection about 1-2minutes after its starts. This is an idrive problem as I don't have this on iOS by itself.

It is working fine on mine - like the stability of the apple music vs the spotify app but much prefer the gui of spotify via I drive.

I use the Apple lightning cable plugged in my center console and everything works. I have no Nav or enhanced bluetooth. Just follow the USB symbol on your idrive.

No issues going to 8.4 for me. Bluetooth and USB cable worked as expected.

2015 335i, no Tech or Enhanced Bluetooth. iPhone 5s.

I've upgraded my iPhone and am in the Apple Music trial. Going to play around in the car today to see what results I get.

I do have Navi and Enhanced BT in my 2015 F32, so I'll report back what experience I have.

iDrive is very buggy with iOS 9 in my experience. Hope they fix this soon, spotify has become basically useless

After using the USB/Lightning cable more extensively, I noticed that the currently playing song wasn't showing on the iDrive screen (no tech package, 2015 335i).

I did a hard reset and reset the network settings, then I wasn't getting ANY connection through the USB port , though Bluetooth worked after reentering the device.

After playing around a bit, restarting the iPhone resolved the issue and all worked as expected including the current song being displayed.

In hindsight, I wish I had checked the functionality before resetting the network settings.

FYI - Apple Music won't work unless you "make available offline." Make sure you do that and it should work, although I find that album art has never worked really well.

For me I don't need to make available offline, I just need to add the song, album or playlist to my music and it becomes instantly available in idrive. Perhaps you need to upgrade your idrive software?

Hey guys, finally got a chance to play with Apple Music in the car for integration with BMWs.

My car is a 2015 and my results were quite good. Sound quality was good with the phone plugged in (iPhone 6+). Bluetooth volume is low as usual, but album art showed up for both connections.

My issues are with Apple Music itself. All of my stations seem to be artist specific. Well, not all, but most. I prefer the Pandora approach a little more and I don't pay for it.

After trying Apple's streaming, think I may start to pay for Spotify instead.
