Nurburgring on ED

Who has taken a European Delivery and gone to the Nurburgring in Nordscleife? Someone told the track officials (or whoever governs that "toll" road) wont allow it because the car only has temporary registration and is not officially licensed.

did it in my M5.. definitely top 5 bucket list. I put 1200 miles on the car and did a full break in though the Alps beforehand. I will be taking my BMWs there regularly in the next couple years:

The car is officially licensed and insured. I did it in my 335i and was a blast! The stock tires took a bit of a beating. Chance of a lifetime though! I would do it again in a heartbeat.

It's more than 500km from the BMW Welt to the Nordschleife, so you'll have a bit of break in time even if you'd go there directly.
And as others have written: Just schedule your visit a bit later on your trip.

Who says you have to drive hard at the Ring? As a matter of fact, it's usually the guys that drive too hard that end up crashing.

I went there just to enjoy myself, had nothing to prove. Especially seeing a GTR crash right in front of me during my first lap.

Whoever told you that you can't drive on the Ring, just punch them in the head really good for talking out of their ass so brazenly.

Lots of information on this the on the F8X pricing and delivery sub-forum. The other option if you don't want to risk taking your new ED car on the Ring is to rent a track-prepared car with insurance. There is information about this on the Ring website.

Stay the night. I planned to drive the Ring on the day I arrived and a flat tire changed my plans. I had already planned to stay the night in Nurburg, so I ended up having to push my schedule out to drive the Ring the next afternoon.

There is no guarantee. A bad crash at opening could shut the track down for the rest of the day.
