Bluetooth for our cars - 6$ excellent quality.

All you need is ANY usb power device, then connect it to your aux you can hide it all in your glove box.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-USB-Wire...item2a4ff53e43

I use these on my custom radios

www.rockboxaudio.com

And i use it in my car, auto connects when you turn the power on, super clear, works great! And its under 6$.

Agreed. I have a similar unit from DealExtreme and they work great. Actually I have two units that are both connected similtaneously, one to my phone the other to my wife's phone. The outputs go into a 2-to-1 3.5mm adapter then into the aux input. Works like a charm!!

I have a 2011 328i and I would LOVE to be able to sync my phone's music player to my car's speaker via bluetooth. Can you elaborate on how this hooks up and what else I need to do? I don't understand what you mean by hiding it in the glovebox, but have it connected to the AUX port in the dash at the same time?

I think what the OP meant was the place the unit in your center arm rest. Looks like you need to hook it up to a power adapter and then connect the device to your AUX in jack in the center arm rest.

I have the MPOW StreamBot (found it on Amazon), which is similar to this, and have been extremely happy with it.

Looking at the eBay info, it appears that it
  1. plugs into the USB port (in the console storage area in LCI cars),
  2. draws 5V to power itself from the USB port,
  3. pairs up via Bluetooth to your smarphone
  4. converts what it gets via Bluetooth digital to standard analog stereo signal
  5. sends the stereo signal into the 3.5mm standard stereo plug Aux port (in the console storage area in LCI cars)

How are you connecting to Bluetooth? With what type of phone?

Bluetooth has the ability exceptionally clear when the connection is strong transmitters/receivers aren't shitty.

Unfortunately, I believe that your 08 E92 doesn't support A2DP (which is what allows you to listen to media files).

Believe!...Even the newer-than-E90 F30 did NOT support Bluetooth music streaming (A2DP streaming) until last year, and even then it is an extra cost option.

The 2013 F30 basic Bluetooth does NOT stream music; you need 'Enhanced BT' to have A2DP profile, stereo audio streaming over BT. Even in 2014 335i MSport the enhanced BT and USB was not an option on the 2014 model and you had to also pay $2150 for the nav package to get it.

Someone wrote that not all non-Nav 2014 3-series have the combox; some have the basic Bluetooth/USB integrated in the non-Nav HU and cannot be easily upgraded to enhanced Bluetooth.
However, one F30 owner reported he had purchased a MY2014 without nav, and was able to find someone who could do the coding remotely and this worked to add enhanced bluetooth and USB.
