CC ID 131 132 Blown Angel Eyes: Replace with LEDs, No Light, Codes Stay

Two months ago the stock angel eyes went out on my 2006 E90 w/ Xenons. L, then a while later R. Get a ding, picture of a lamp and CC-ID 131, 132 codes when I start the car.

Lived with this for two months. Today I replaced the blown bulbs with some used Mtec v4s. With the LEDs in, neither side is lighting up and the codes are still there. The black plastic near the contacts on the "blown" bulbs I pulled looked a little melted.

I checked some fuses listed under the headlight logo and they all looked good. Can't be certain I checked all the applicable ones though.

More info, about 7 months a go a tail light blew: CC-ID error, replaced bulb, error gone.

Can anyone recommend a next step for the LEDs? Thanks!

Probably needs a FRM reset. Look it up, plenty of threads on how to do it. You will need working INPA with tool32.

Thanks for the help. Lots of info out there when you look up angel eye, FRM, lamp counter, short circuit, etc.

I ordered a cable and got the software setup, and was able to get into toolset32 and load FRM_87 (found FRM version from INPA) and check the lamp counters. They were all 0! I reset them anyway as per the procedure and no lights.

Still CC-ID 131, 132. The codes disappear when I turn off the voltage monitoring, however the lights still don't come on.

Is there any particular issue with installing the MTec v4s that I should know about? Does polarity matter on the LEDs?

It does on some, each LED set is different, if the wires are color coded make sure the polarities are correct. If still nothing the next step would be to verify output voltage with a multimeter.
