Its your rear brake pads or the handbrake shoes. It gets worse...a lot worse. By the time I took mine in for this, everywhere I drove under 40mph it sounded like I was dragging a sword on the road behind me.

Check that it is not the lid on the compartment between your rear seats
Mine was rattling until I filled it with foam rubber

Definitely not that, it doesn't come from the inside of the car and gets especially loud when my windows are open and I am going over a bump.

I'm pretty sure its the handbrake shoes, pads look like they have atleast 50%, how could I check if its this? And thank you both for the replies.

Oh in that case is likely to be shocks or suspension parts
Are you running stock or aftermarket??

The car is dropped, but I bought it like this and haven't touched it so not sure, I was suspecting that too. One of the wheel bearings was bad when I got it so I thought maybe that was the problem.. I replaced the wheel bearing and the sound didn't go away. And my other wheel bearing went out since then... Lol I love this car

If you pull the handbrake up a touch, does the noise stop? That would be your best indicator.

I have the squeaky too at low speed. I think it's the brake pads or shoes

If you had the squeak for a while, especially when parking brake is engaged:

90% ebrake shoes
5% bushing (near the wheel, maybe lower control arm)
5% ball joint

I just did what you guys told me and drove slow on first gear while engaging the hand brake and the sound still occurred while doing that.

With engine off, put the car in park (or what ever gear for manual) and do not engage the hand brake, find a good spot on the rear corner of the car where the sheet metal will stand being pushed on and shove down hard several times and then do the other side. If you hear the squeak it is something in your suspension.

If that doesn't cause it to show up, find a parking lot and drive slow and touch your brakes (not the hand brake) and see if it gets louder or disappears. If it does one or the other then it is something with the rear brakes.

Squeaky hand brake shoes/mechanics ususally shows up when it is engaged and a person is getting in and out of the car. You can check that by not engaging the hand brake and getting in and out of the car and then disengaging it and getting in and out.

+1

E-Brake shoes can likely just be cleaned, if that is the culprit. Brake dust builds up IMMENSELY in that area.
