What to do about brake dust?

So I'm so torn... I don't want to spend a lot of money on this car since it's a lease but the brake dust is killing me! I just washed the car and within a couple days the rims are black with brake dust.

Any coatings or anything that you guys use the help? I heard opticoat helps - but can't find anyone other than a "salesman" with experience.

Other options would be re-finishing the rims black or new brakes... These are kinda expensive options...

Thoughts? Advice? What do you guys do?

Depending on your model and brake option, low-dust pads such as Porterfield R4-S may be a relatively reasonably priced option.

You can apply the same paint sealant to the wheels that you would normally apply to the exterior paint. It helps, but it's not magical.

Armour All Wheel Protectant will keep it clean for about a month after you applied. Assuming it does not rain in the meanwhile. :-/

I've had ceramic compound pads on my E89 Z4 TT and they were dust free and performed well. Not necessarily expensive either.

A local Australian brand. Bremtec. Was very happy.

Check the turner motorsports website. Identify your brakes and read their pad recommendations .Then change to the centric or even stoptech pads Either one is a good low dust street pad,and less cost than oem BMW pads

Embrace it. I think it's a great color for wheels.

Or paint your rims matte black and you won't see the brake dust much after that.

~ I change all of my cars brake pads (the first week I get the car) to a ceramic pad to eliminate the daily cleaning of the wheels.
