2015 M Power Tour - is it worth it?
Hey all, just curious as it seems more people here have been to it than in the M5 forums.
I can go to the Mosport one in July for $700, just not sure if it's worth it. It seems like a bit much if I'm honest, but trying to see what people think who have actually been to it. It looks like it's a lot of pace laps with a lot of cones lying around, and I am not sure if you ever get to take the track at speed. 3.5 hours for $700 at Mosport with a lot of slow lapping seems like you're throwing away about $600 lol. That would pay for a few extra track days this year Yeah I know it's not my car, new M4's, M6's, etc but I'd want to take the M3/4/6 out and give it the beans. That's just my thought on it, I am curious what others think? Do you get to do some more open lapping (with or without the instructors) or is it all very 'paced'? -J

It consist of a lot of practicing in section of the track
Only at the end of the day u get 3-4 laps following the instructor , you won't be going that fast Is worth it if you are set on getting a m car, you get some cash discount from BMW

That's sort of what I thought. $700 better spent elsewhere. If BMW decides to send me there for free next time I pick up a car, great. Otherwise, pass.
Thanks! -J

I went last year, not really worth it. You share a the car with another person and spend a lot of time switching seats after each section of the track. The whole event you probably get less then 20 minutes actually driving fast.

Did you get any new BMW purchase discount incentive for participation? How much was it?

Wow, that seems like a no brainer in my situation. Spend $700+tax and get $1500 off new car in return?
I am scheduled to take delivery at the end of Aug, while the M Power tour is in town the week of Aug 17. Am I reading this right, or there is a catch in the fine print that I do not see? Did they just handed you the voucher at the event? Is this considered BMW Canada incentive that can be applied anytime before taking delivery? |

Anyone can comment on the availability and use conditions of any coupon handed to participants?

Don't know if it's just me but I can't find the other courses on BMW's website any longer.. ie., you can't register for Advanced - only the M Power Tour is left on the site.
Curious to know if this incentive is stackable with others (ie., the BMW Club Owners 2% discount) |

I can confirm that the voucher received for participation in BC portion of BMW Canada M Power Tour was actually 2% off MSRP on the purchase of a new 2015 or 2016 M car.
Valid for the next 90 days. |
