Rocky start but another happy 228i owner!
Car arrived in Baltimore the day of the riots. Thanks to super stalking on Vessel Finder, I was able to see the boat move from one port to the next, I assume to get out of the danger zone. Picked up from dealership Saturday during torrential rains and floods. The XDrive handled it beautifully! Could not drive it at all the rest of the weekend due to threats of hail and tornados.
Had a great commute in the sunshine this morning! I couldn't be happier with this car. XDrive, Sport line, Premium, Tech. VO over Oyster with fine wood trim. The wood trim does not seem popular in this car but I love it. It is much darker than I expected, blends with the black perfectly. |

Same here: black SensaTec with the FineLine wood trim, with just enough aluminum to set it all off. I'd have preferred Terra (medium gray) as an interior color option, but if you see my car, you'll know why black fits juuuust fine. Might be time to finally get a couple of decent pics up ...

The FineLine wood trim is what's in my wife's X3, and I haven't noticed any such problems; even though I've driven it over 20,000 miles in all directions and at all times of the day. So I'm assuming it will be OK in my 228i when it arrives. By the way, the ony other thing that I did NOT love about that 228i test drive was that it's outside mirrors are too small; unlike my 2011 128i, which had very nice-sized and practical outside rear-view mirrors. |
