Wheel wax plus 4 hours = Really clean wheels...

I spent around 4 hours today washing and waxing my wheels. These things were a PITA to wax, but in the final outcome was really nice IMO. I applied two coats on the front wheels and one coat on the rear wheels. Hopefully this will help with the brake dust that the oem pads love to cover our wheels with.

Haha ... sad, but true. I guess I'll find out tomorrow when I take my car for a ride.

My index finger was about ready to fall off by the time I got to the last wheel. I feel like a 95 year old with arthritis.

That does blow. I'm assuming that its the lips that are a bitch to maintain, right? I had a set of RoJa's on my last car and the finish with the lips is very similar in that they didn't have a clearcoat on them. They were IMPOSSIBLE to keep clean. I have found that wheels with anodized lips are by far the easiest to keep clean. Just wash them with soap and water once a week and you are fine. The only downside is that if any type of chemical/salt hits the anodized finish then you are screwed.

I used "wheel wax" that you can buy at any autozone or advance auto. I also used this on my 189's when I had them and it kept the brake dust off fairly well for the first month or so. If nothing else, it just makes it easier to wash off the brake dust with soap and water.

I'm loving the spring weather that we have been getting the past few days.
