Dinan Springs from Dealer
Hello,
I was looking at buying Dinan or H&R springs. I looked at most thread and have an idea of the one I am leaning towards, which is Dinan. I was on their website today and my BMW dealership is an authorized reseller and installer of their product. Would it be a smarter idea to do it there since it might be covered or should I do it somewhere else in case something goes wrong and I need to warranty some parts. Either that or I go with the H&R! Thank you! |

BMW dealer will not warrant your car if something goes wrong that's a direct cause of using Dinan springs. Dinan is an aftermarket company and provides its own warranty should something break due to its products. However, there have been many cases where Dinan and BMW point fingers to each other and in the end the owner gets nothing from either party. Honestly, if you want to mod your car in any way, you should just be mentally prepared that if anything (that's related to the mod) goes wrong, you won't have warranty and have to pay yourself for repairs. If you cannot accept that mindset, you should not mod your car at all.

I actually called the dealer today. I specifically asked about if my shocks or other parts fail due to the springs, he said they are all warranted as long as I have my original warranty. Only if I do it at the dealership though.
Catch is they charge $1,030.00 for labor! |

Too bad that you have an x-drive, I have a set of Dinan + bumpstops for sale, and I'm in MTL !
But they're for a RWD only. I was able to install (and remove) them myself, being an ex-mechanic. +- a 3.5h job to install them. And, as other mentioned, unless you pay the hefty price to have your parts installed by them, you can basically forget the warranty on that specific part of your car. And even if they install them, you may have to fight a little to have the warranty honored. When you start modding, you have to be ready to pay to play...

But here's what your car will look like. Mine has the Dinan springs, bumpstops, and control arm bearing install.
