Adaptive M suspension and H&R sport springs

Just a quick question. I know about the shocks' lifespan being shortened by lowering spring, but his is my first Adaptive suspension. Will I be messing the system up to the point that it might throw a code if I drop it with just the H&R Sport springs?

Dinan has the "Dinan Shockware" that pairs with your Adaptive Suspension and is meant to work with Dinan's performance lowering spring set. If you call Dinan, they may be able to give you info on whether it adds additional wear to the shocks as they do pretty extensive testing for their products. Just something to check out if you haven't already.

Thanks but I'm pretty sure that's gonna be expensive. I just want to eliminate the fender gap without spending too much. If it will do a lot of damage on the system, then I might keep it as it is. But thanks for the option though.

I'm running adaptive dampers and H&R sport springs. 12months+ and still very happy.

You stated the reason why I am not doing a lowering spring on my F80 that has adaptive suspension, for fear that the shocks would be worn out prematurely and I will have to pay a few thousand dollars to replace the expensive electronic shocks. If I just had passive suspension, I'd put on a good coilover setup on day 1.

There has been extensive discussion about this.

If you are not worried about your shortening the life of your shocks, you're good to go.

Can you post or PM me a pix of your car. I just want to see how low H&R sport spring can go on F32. I don't want a stanced profile. Just wanna eliminate or at least lessen the wheel gap. Thanks in advance!

Thanks. OEM adaptive dampers, H&R sport springs 1" drop all round. H&R sway bars too + quaife LSD + F8x front lower control arms. Car is v nimble and yet still rides well.

It wont throw a code but as mentioned as long as you are not worried about a shorten lifespan, you are good to go.

If we decide to go for it but it ruins the system and the warranty is still valid, would it be covered or would I have to put the OEM springs back then go to dealer?

depending which workshop you go to - anywhere from 2-4hrs labour time. Alignment would then be extra.

So basically about 300$ around that + Alignment.

I called the BMW dealer for the Dinan springs since in Montreal they are the authorized reseller. They were charging 1,130$ for installation!!
