Been hit by a foreign lorry!!

So yesterday I was in the middle lane along a long stretch of average speed zone on the M6 when a dutch lorry from the inside lane pulled out from the inside lane into the back of my car.

Rear wheel looks like it has grated by the front wheel nuts of the lorry completely destroying it! and my rear quarter panel and side skirts is marked and dented from his front steps.

I have his reg, company name along with his green card details.

Anyone know the best way to claim?

I know you can claim through the green card embassy or is letting my insurers deal with the claim easier?

Hmmm probably best thing is to give the details to your insurance company to deal with I guess. I've been hit by a lorry before but wasn't foreign so was straight forward.

Hope you get it sorted ok though.

Hope you have more luck than when a Spanish truck driver decided to drive over the top of my e46 330i convertible. Police attended the scene and took all details etc , truck driver was never heard from again!

Ended up having to claim through the uninsured loss bureau

This is what I am afraid off happening!

Most annoying this is my car had pretty much a full re-spray done a couple months ago and 2 days prior to the lorry hitting me 4 wheel laser alignment.

Both are completely messed up, what a waste of money that was!

Wasn't by junction 6 was it chap ? I use that every day and have had two cars hit by foreign lorries changing into my lane without indicating .
Sorry to hear it, both times I notified my insurance and let them deal with it, but be prepared for it to drag, they were pretty quick to pay for the car damage as obviously they are going to end up paying for a courtesy car, but on one of them I claimed for injuries and they took a year and a half for that, car payment was done in 3 weeks though.
Hope you get it sorted, good luck ,Den .

Any witness?

Unfortunately, its a mess to deal with foreign truck drivers.
My car was hit by a foreign lorry. He refused to accept the liability.
Police was called. He gave wrong reg to police and they did not bother to check it.

Luckily I had photos.

Well it got dragged for 2 years and as there was not witness, it settled as 50/50. From there onward, I try to stay away from foreigner trucks/ cars.

I was quite impressed with the british motorway system to be fair, as it happened on the average 50 zone where there was road works the motorway cameras picked up stopped in the hard shoulder in the road works so they sent out a traffic patrol car and a recovery truck with 10 minutes of me being there.

Luckily they managed to catch up with the lorry driver who stopped 1/2 mile up the road after the road works and got all his details off him for me.

Had my wheel alignment re done today and luckily nothing was bent, looks like the wheel took all the impact from it!

Just informed my insurance company so fingers crossed it works out, by the sounds of it this happens quite alot! heard alot of mixed stories of getting anything from it.

Happened between Junction 12 and 13.

Here are a couple of pictures of the damage, can see what his wheel nuts done to my wheel, no idea how my tyre didnt burst!

I don't think it's fair we have to claim on our own policy because of these retarded thunder cunts. I don't understand why these pissflaps are allowed to get away with it.
