Warning: Battery Cover Removal
When removing the battery cover or accessing the manual fuel door release, you must pry the panel up from the outside, behind the net. If you pry from the inside, next to the luggage rails, you will break the 2 tabs holding it down. Guess how I know.
If you break it, the part number is 51477325510, and MSRP is $27.35 as of today. It can be had for $21 and change from ECS or most wholesale dealers. On a side note, to actually get to the battery terminals, you also have to remove the whole right side rear panel. I have no details on that yet, haven't done it. I'll add to this thread when I do. |

Still didn't pull the battery, but did take a few pics.
First, this is the result when you remove it the wrong way. Broken tabs. Second, this is what you see when you remove the cover. The green thing is the manual gas tank release. I have no idea how to get those pins out for battery access. They aren't standard pushpins where the center goes in and out. I think they may be plastic rivets. Already emailed Burger to see if theres a way to disconnect the battery from the fusebox or somewhere else, cause I'm not getting those out.. Last edited by Mike_L; 04-16-2015 at 04:17 PM.. |
