Goodbye estoril blue??
My estoril blue 335 gt finally went into production. I then noticed the color has been removed from the BMW website, and is no longer a build option. I spoke with a representative who stated the color is limited and is no longer an option. She couldn't really expand on what that meant. It sounds like I am still getting an estoril blue car since it already went into production. I am not sure if that is a good or bad thing. Anyone have any additional info?

No info, but Im guessing its an issue with supply and demand, like the leather dash. The color will probably be back for 2016. If not, they need some more M-Sport colors!

Now this is a shocker. From what i can gather on BMW forums, Estoril Blue is very popular. I can't believe BMW would drop such a popular color. I suppose it's possible there could be a problem with the supplier. But...? It's a paint color, why would there be a supply problem with a paint color? Besides, it's available on the 2 Series. Go figure. This will be interesting to follow.

+1. Since it was only available if you also went with a specific line, rather than on any line, they probably didn't use enough of it to make it worthwhile keeping it in the lineup. The intent was to give the color some exclusivity, they probably made it too exclusive.

Probably going to be replaced by Metallic Baby Poop Brown to conform to U.S. tastes in car colors.
(Just staggering to think that one literally cannot buy an F34 M Sport in any sort of blue in the U.S.) |
