Tire size question

I have a 328i xi and want to replace my stock 17 inch rims with 18 inch VMR V703 VB3 CSL style rims. In respects to the tires, since im currently on a square 225/45/17 set up. Would i just buy 225/45/18 size tires to match the rims? I would think a lower aspect ratio tire would increase the wheel gap. Correct me if im wrong.

Newbie to the forum and bmw cars in general. Love every bit of it so far!

225/40R18 would be the correct sizing to match overall diameter.
