New front brake time...

Hi guys,

What are the best reasonably priced discs/pads for my e92 325i, I've had a quick look and heard a lot of people mention yellow/red/green stuff pads but don't know which is best for everyday driving? Also how easy is it to fit discs and pads yourself?

Any help is appreciated, Cal.

After reading up on a few threads I'm thinking of going down the OEM disc route, mainly due to noise complaints of drilled discs. Anyone know the best place to get these?

Now I'm stuck on what pads will be best, ideally I'd like low dust pads as i've got mv4's and they're a PITA to clean! Does anyone have low dust pads fitted that can tell me if they're worth it and which brand they went for?

Cheers!!

I have grooved black diamond disks and can't complain about them at all. I'm also using black diamond pads and get almost no brake dust.

I've still got my original set up on the front as the car has only done 57k.
I think the standard brakes are absolutely fantastic and the best I've used. Is there a big difference in aftermarket pads?

I'm relatively happy with the stopping power of the OEM stuff just sick of the brake dust, would be nice to have clean alloys for longer than a week

If it's anything like the 320d then it's a piece of p*ss! Could do a disc and pads in 30mins quite easily, excluding time faffing around finding 'the right tool'

Okay, just found genuine BMW performance discs on leebmann24.de for £111 each, that's only £9 more than standard ones from the dealer, anyone have any experience with these?

I have Mintex on the rear at the moment and they seem pretty decent. I think I'll give them a go for my front pads too.

Mine aren't fully bedded in yet but had yellowstuff before, much better than OEM.

As much as there can be a saving from the cost of the original BMW discs and pads, because I am VERY impressed with the longevity and performance of my set up, if I changed for something different and saved a couple of quid, then the braking was not as good, I'd be a bit peed off. When mine need changing, I'm sticking to original discs and pads.

I'm a 1000 miles away from needing my front discs and pads doing and am undecided at what to get, I'm happy to stay OEM but like has already been said I'm quite surprised at how pricy OEM discs are so was looking to see if there was a better alternative for the same sort of money??

I phoned bmw to see what they'd charge to to my discs and pads and was quoted £535 lol

You can make a saving and get better performance if you need it.

I don't think these will fit my car, correct me if I'm wrong but I think e92 m sport discs are 330mm? Also as brakes are a pretty serious part I'd like to be able to guarantee at least OEM quality.

These are the discs I'm going to go with I think if anyone can confirm they'll be a straight swap? http://www.leebmann24.de/bmw-perform...1-e92-e93.html

Thanks for all the replies so far!

I'm not too sure, I found those discs on BMW's ebay shop and put the model of my car in to see if they'd fit and it said they would.
