'09 Space Grey 335d in Savannah - do not buy

I posted this in the SE regional section too

----
All,

I would highly highly advise against buying the 2009 335d for sale at Vaden. I say this because it's my old car.

Few things:
1. Ad says "Serviced here, Clean Vehicle". I bought the car from Cali and took it with me to SC. I owned it for almost two years and never once had it serviced there. All at BMW in Hilton Head.
2. By god this car had to be possessed. If I had bought it new, it probably would have qualified as a lemon. In 2014 alone, the car was in the dealership eight times and they had it for almost THREE months. CARFAX only shows it being serviced four times, and information listed being "Maintenance inspection completed". I had error codes nonstop for "smoothness control cylinder", even after they did carbon cleanup. Luckily it was covered under CPO, as I had over $6k replaced in parts alone. Can't even imagine what labor would be (3 months...40 hour weeks...~$100/hour?). If you are able to get service records, you'll see what I mean.
3. Latest CEL popped up Feb 20, codes 436D, 4595, 41F9, 474C, 4748; same ones I had for over the past year. They did a computer reset and the CEL went away. My CPO expired on 21 March '15 and I couldn't risk the costs associated it. I tossed out the records when I sold the car but I had multiple injectors replaced and I believe the SCR tank twice.

Car was fun as hell to drive but so damn unreliable. It got to the point that I had rented every loaner the dealership had and I'd be able to call and ask for the one I wanted prior to coming there. Awesome people in the service department.

I ended up trading in the car - lost some money on it but I couldn't in good conscience sell it off to someone here with how many problems I had with it. VIN ended in A265784.

Thank you.

Was going to go look at this one later this week. After my last "possessed" 335d I was nervous and reading up on the forum to see if any progress had been made with reliability. Thanks for your candor. I will mark that one off the list.
