▀▄ eas | FIRST LOOK: APR Front Splitter/Air Dam for F8X M3/M4
Sort of a "behind the scenes" project with EAS and APR, we wanted to show you a sneak peek one of the first track-specific splitters to hit the market from APR Performance. Known for weight savings and durability, The APR Performance Front Air Dam/Splitter are formed in the autoclave at high temperatures using pre-preg manufacturing processes.
OVERVIEW The APR Performance Front Air Dam/Splitter integrates with the M3/M4 front bumper to reduce front-end lift and increase high-speed stability. Formed in the autoclave at high temperatures, The APR Performance Front Air Dam/Splitter are made from pre-preg carbon fiber materials to be strong and light weight. BENEFITS Reduce front-end lift Maximize cornering speeds Enhance high-speed stability Molded to conform perfectly to factory M3/M4 front bumper SPECIFICATIONS Pattern: 2x2 twill weave Material: Pre-preg carbon fiber, 3K Coating: UV-stable clear coat Mounting: Pre-drilled holes to assist with mounting to factory front bumper Hardware: Stainless-steel machine screws, washers, and nuts Protection: Billet Aluminum Underside Skid Pucks to prevent damage from scraping ALUMINUM SKID PLATES The APR Performance Front Air Dam/Splitter come pre-equipped with integrated billet aluminum skid plates to prevent damage from road or driveways. Not out of the box, the BMW splitters will need to be trimmed to fit.

As far as I'm aware, APR is the only one using this for the F8X models at the moment. The pucks ride on the surface and prevent the lip from being damaged when going up steep driveways/ramps, while keeping a stealth appearance.

APR makes true track focused aero - I'm going to be getting this soon!!
Question for Tom though -- Is any wind tunnel being planned? Also I'm assuming just a lip will unbalance the car and induce oversteer on the track. Is APR working on a wing or a trunk lip like the M performance one to balance front and rear? |
