Calgary, always parked my E92 for winter. M4 sitting at the dealer for pick up, most likely will park it as well for the coming winter.

Can anyone comment if they have had any issues driving it in winter? Are you nervous or relaxed while driving?

Only issue thats ever crosses my mind is the chance that someone else crashes into me... Otherwise, never had an issue, EVER. Drove an E93 for 2 winters and wouldn't change a thing.

Yeah, I guess that qualifies as winter driving......

I am still only at about 1,000 km so too far from break in to try racing this year. (I should get the next 1k this month but, man, I've been gone a lot on the weekends. Even when I try to commute 2 or 3 times a week just to drive it, it is still only about an 8 km round trip for me so it takes a while to add on the miles man....)

Come out to Ghost Lake. Its about 60km from Calgary so it will help you break the car in. All the races this year are full, but spectators are more than welcome and passengers are encouraged to ride along. Its a good way to get your feet wet into the sport even though getting wet on a frozen lake would probably be an indication of bad news.....

Have you tried Tunerworks?

I got a very nice setup (BBS SRs with Michelin PA4s) that actually cost less than the BMW official package.

Some pics can be found via the link in my signature.

yeah, those are nice/hardcore tires.

that said, in the last month and a half I've been driving my car, the Michelin PA4s have been pretty much exactly what I wanted. Great dry/wet tires and totally fine in the snow we've had in that time.

What is your build like?

First time I have driven RWD in winter in a looong time, and last car had nothing like the power of this one.

But totally fine with it. With some sandbags in the trunk over the rear axle and some winter tires (and as I just said in the last post, I have Michelin PA4 performance winters) it is completely fine in a Calgary winter. Great in the dry/wet and not at all nerve wracking in the snow we've had. Just drive it with some care and go easy on the throttle from a stop and it is fine.

If you went with something more hardcore (say, Hakka's, either studded like coolmody or even the non-studded) it would be even better from a stop.

The 'summer season' is too short here to make these cars winter garage queens!

love the car. picked her up on saturday and been driving around with the summer tires.

my build is what you call a stripper, carbon trim and garage door opener and 6 speed. I might be the only one with cloth seats in town!
