Anyone else thought of this?
Struggled the last few years changing summer and winter wheels over, It can be awkward offering the wheel to the hub and also lining up the stud holes. So I came up with this bright idea (for me). I had a spare stud which I ground the hexagon off and cut a screwdriver slot in it. So, off comes the winter wheel then screw in the spare stud. You now have two location points, simples. My Mk2 version will now have a hacksaw cut at 90deg. through the screw driver slot for a Philips driver.

The Mercedes one fits just fine.

IIRC you're looking for a M12 X 1.5mm alignment tool. Search ebay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/M12-x-1-5-...item2a48bf2078. make sure it's the right one for your model. I bought 2, which makes it easier still. |
