My offer for a new E92 M3

What do you guys think? Is my offer realistic? I plan on faxing it off to 30 or so dealers in the area next week. Does anyone see any errors?

Not a clue, but note that the $57,275 base price already includes the $775 destination & prep. Also, I think the code for the M-DCT is 2MK. The GGT cannot be $1,900--it goes $1,300, $1,700 & $2,100. I'm guessing $1,300. Lastly, this post should go in the Pricing, Ordering... forum.

Really? I think it's bonkers - when the E46 could be bought in the $50s (no hedonics' arguments) How much more were you expecting? "Much more" connotes 'well-optioned 911 CS2' to me.

Really does speak to the reality of EUR/USD = 1.50. Yeah, I know, the US is cheaper than W. Eur, LATAM, NJA, Australia, SAR ... this point is about the local market, not global.

I've resolved that low $70s is tops for the E92 - will spec accordingly.

Wow...that's more than 3 times what I paid for my 1st house in 1975.

House built in 1973, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1750 sq ft attached two car garage. 1/3 acre. Mortgage payment was a bit over $200/month.

Man I feel old.

Given that you are requesting MSRP, it really depends on your geographical region on whether or not a dealer will bite on that. In high demand areas you are going to have to cast a pretty wide net.

I don't beleive lease rates are available yet for the M3 and they can only lock them in for so long (I think 30 or 60 days) so you aren't going to get anyone to bite on the payment becasue they don't have the facts..

Furthermore based on previous M3 lease residuals & mf's, it will cost more than your $1086, $0 down target payment for the car you have specced if it is sold at MSRP. Now this is just my opinion but i guessed the MSRP of the E92 to the penny almost 2 years ago.

Some lease estimates for you...
MF = .00295, Term = 36 Months, Residual = 57%, Acquisition Fee $800(est) (this is the current M5 program)
Payment = $1261/mo (w/ 6.5% tax)

Now if we make some reasonable assumptions, such as that the M3 will have a better residual but the same money factor...
MF = .00295, Term = 36 Months, Residual = 62%, Acquisition Fee $800(est) (this is the current M5 program + 5 pts on residual)
Payment = $1169/mo (w/ 6.5% tax)

And now another 5 pts on the residual....
MF = .00295, Term = 36 Months, Residual = 67%, Acquisition Fee $800(est) (this is the current M5 program + 10 pts on residual)
Payment = $1076/mo (w/ 6.5% tax)

I really don't think that is convenient to be offering prices and stuff if you don't even really know the final complete price of the car. You don't know the GGT and you don't have solid evidence about the data.

You can go and talk with the dealers and see what they are offering you, but they won't just accept a price if they don't know how much the car will be. (and neither should you).

That's true. So when is all of this data going to come out?

Agree. I will spec to be in the low $70s myself.

Dude, you don't make an offer using the word "probable" whether spelled correctly or incorrectly. That word means your terms are negotiable and I don't think that is what you had in mind. If the GGT is still unknown, your offer should be "x" amount plus GGT and see who bites.

No offense, but the dealers are probably going to laugh when they see that. Why don't you just call them and see what they can do.

Also, no dealer has any info on leasing yet. If they agreed to that, they would pretty much be leasing a car to you based on your figures.

And no one has immediate allocation right now. If you sent this out today, the soonest you would get your car would be this summer.

First, I spelt probable correctly. Second, if a dealer wants to offer me the car for $900/month and I won't be able to take delivery until June, fine with me. That's what I said "probable."

Corrrect the error with the duplicate destination charge, reduce the DCT to the correct $2,700, drop the headlight washers and ski sack for $250 savings, drrop PDC, drop Sirius and without tax you're closer to $70k.

THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN EVER!!

First off, no dealer is going to remove an M3 from their allocation and get dinged for year end sales on a car like that. For ED they have to remove that car from their allocation and BMW counts it against them.

Second of all your date is laughable. People are trying to get dates for June now and April is long gone.

Last, your monthly payment is way off, by about $200 a month.

This car is coming is at a MF os .00275 and a residual of 67% for 24 and 57% for 36 months.

Dont even waste your fax.
