Idrive controller texture

Did BMW change the Idrive controllers touchpad texture for 2015? My friends 2014 has a smooth, shiny look. Mine, a dull, matte finish.

Mine had a dull matte finish but I put one of these on it. Looks pretty sweet to me!

Op, your friend hhas the optional.ceramic controller knob...

Sorry level3, but i think thats a bit tacky, especially the "Powered by ///M Bmw on the side window.... but thats just my humble unsignificant point of view... to each its own...

I was wondering the same thing after I had a 2015 loaner. So the smooth finish touchpad is the ceramic controls option? Learn something new.

I doubt its ceramic. My fathers '14 F10 has a smooth finish touchpad without the ceramic option.

Friends '14 F30 - According to realoem.com, this version was available from 09/2013 through 07/2014

I've had this car all of 2 weeks. The side decals are a product of the previous owner. They will end up being removed as they look a bit immature. I'll be sure to let my PR team know you don't approve.

I've noticed the exact same thing with the I-Drive controller in my 2014 3 Series vs. the one in the 2015 Gran Coupe.

Those "powered by" stickers are on a lot of hondas. Sweet.

Perhaps the tackier finish (feel, not style) helps with functionality...aka, better grip for the touch control?

I already explained the 2 side window stickers were left on from the previous owner. I haven't got around to removing them. The idrive controller had a scratch on the tacky face and I found something to cover it. You guys are dicks... but if it makes you feel better about yourselves to make fun of people... more power to you. I'm glad I'm not you. Pretty pathetic.
