OT but I saw Mr Michael Owen again tonight at my local Co-op, used to see him a lot more at school but think he has moved them away. Anyway slightly on topic as he drove on in a LR RR Sport. quite into his horses these days at Northop I think so perfect car for the job.
He had no comment on the F30 LCI!!!

I always like that in the tabloids everyone has a top of the range car!
The stats that LR and BMW make up 25% of all thefts of keyless cars in Kensington are supposed to shock us I guess and suggest that is very high, but I'd hazard a guess that that's just representative of what proportion of keyless cars those brands make up.

I don't know why all the interest in keyless entry and thefts, pretty much all cars in the 80's were stolen without keys.
On top of that I seriously don't care about bunch of knobs in Kensington and Chelsea have daddy's car stolen. Yeah the police will pamper to that lot, rest of country they will not even bother with. Also it might teach the knobs that you don't need a huge car in a bloody city. |

Did we ever get to the bottom of the F3x cars and the ability to clone their remotes? I know it was a big issue with the E9x cars but I'm not sure about the new ones..

On the Exx cars the OBD remained live all the time. I've been told the OBD on Fxx cars shuts down after a certain amount if time after the car has been locked, whether that's true or not I don't know.

In fact, whereas in most countries you need to be able to show documents on demand, in the UK you have a week to produce them (presumably due to the uk having no requirement for an ID card, but that's a while different argument that we really shouldn't get into on here!) so presumably they have to cope with this. But most people would be happy to show who they are to avoid any hassle from a roadside check. |

Excellent idea that insurers now refuse to insure them. The potential lack of sales might actually get the smug bastards at Jaguar Land Rover to do something about it rather than just ignoring the problem and spouting drivel like "Our line-up continues to meet the insurance industry requirements as tested and agreed with relevant insurance bodies."
BMW and other manufacturers take note. |

Has any one tried things like the disklok. Used toga ran autobot but found they marked the steering wheel- half circle types. Anyone had issues withdiskloks- full circle variety.
Also use a bullock t excellence which locks the pedals on my manual not sure if will work on auto. Also anyone know where you can get in uk. Found in Amazon but it's all in Italian or Czech I think and can't speak either !!! |
