Service Book

Just picked up my new M5 CP. I went to check what was included in the 1200 mile service and could not find a service book. Sales person said they were now all electronic but not sure I believe this.
Could anyone with a recently delivered M5 let me know if there is a service log book present...and whether it is stamped with a pre-delivery inspection/ service
Appreciate any feedback

BTW just love the car. I traded an 18 month old M135i which is a hot little chilli pepper of a car with absolutely brilliant drive train. Was going to buy an M3 but ended up preferring the M5 ....a very different beast. Will be running in for a while so enjoying the anticipation of performance to come.

Same, was told its all stored on the key. The service people plug the key into their computers every time you visit - told it reads and then backs up to BMW HQ.

Hey Rich,

Thanks for the feedback.

I collected mine a couple of months ago and as mentioned no service book as all stored on the key/ecu.
Was told it added the prevention of false docs etc and makes total sense when you consider we don't even have a tax disc anymore.
Enjoy the M5 as I was also after the F30 M3 and walked away with M5. One very happy man.

False Documents

Yeah, that makes sense......
I wonder how many others have compared M3 and M5 and decided on the latter.

For me, the M5 felt a lot more special....a more complete piece of automotive engineering excellence

Does the key also keep all the details of what was changed and which dealer?

The system definitely saves a dealer code. This shows up on the idrive service record. My guess is that the dealer system records more detail about the actual service items that were changed.
