BMW taking deposits for the M2.
My SA called me today saying that they're now taking deposits for the M2. He didn't have any other info other than that... Just an FYI if this is new news.

Are you looking at an M2 as well?

I've got a wandering eye...it's beyond my control. I'm still in love with my current lady though.

I've had my deposit down for some time. It's comforting to be number one on the list

Me too. I seriously adore the E92 and still have no plans to get rid of it. I'm really hoping a stripper M2 is "reasonably" priced so that I can have both.

Had my deposit in since Halloween. Getting a bit worried about the weakening Canadian dollar as that could significantly effect the price of the M2. Hope it isnt anymore that upper 50's in Canadian dollars.

Then you've got a hell of a lot to hope for. A loaded M235 here is approx. $62k CDN list price and if you think an M2 will be cheaper....think again.

Secure the first M2 order spot from my dealer when I bought the M235i in March. Told them I would only lease the M235i if they promise me the first M2 order allocation when it comes. They said I can walk away clean from the lease as soon as the M2 comes if I keep the miles under 7500 a year and car in excellent condition. Had to pay a little more for the lease but knowing I will be one of the first to get an M2 was worth it.
Ten months into the lease and sitting at 3450 miles has me well on target to getting a new M2 come early 2016 (or sooner). I just hope the purchase price won't be over the top. |

Unlikely bmw will set m car based on a full load m235. A base 235 is $45k, a m4 is $75k, average that and you come to $60k. I will be ok for a stripper model at around $60k Canadian. I want very few options on mine, just metallic paint and perhaps upgraded stereo, 19 inch wheels/tires. If it comes in at 65k I will reconsider and just buy a nice preowned 1M or Cayman S. Nice alternatives.

Many interior upgrades have been added that will be removed before the trade (M Performance Interior, Steering wheel, Exhaust, grills, and BMW all-weather mats) that will either be sold or installed in the new M2 if applicable. The interior of the M235i will have the original interior reinstalled with only a few hundred miles of use on them. Somebody will be getting a used M235i that looks new inside and out. |

But I fully expect HK to be standalone. For me: Metallic paint, HK, LED if possible, 18" wheels, no sunroof, cloth seats, 6MT. No interest in any packages Don't see how it would be IMHO. We've seen M2 test cars with 18" wheels, not to mention the 19s aren't even standard on the M3/4. Not a big deal for me though, I plan on just sticking whatever is free as knowing me, I'll probably end up getting wider aftermarket wheels anyway.
