Help diagnosing Waste gate rattle, clip inside
Evenings guys. N54 335i. Car is still under warranty for the turbos. Got it a couple months ago already modded, it is FBO.
Car doesn't have the same punch compared to another member's car I've seen. Whenever, I try to drive aggressively, above 4k rpm, car goes into limp mode with half engine light. I even put the jb4 on map 0 and it still does this. Was getting no boost gauge using jb4 using map 2, would go to 1-2psi. Driving around with Map 0, the car gave this code in INPA: 0X30FF boost pressure control, boost pressure too low errorType: pressure too low readiness flag: fulfills test conditions error status: error not currently available, obd debounced MIL status: misguided causes no lighting of the warning lamp P-code: P0299 turbocharger / compressor (Bank 1) boost pressure too low So, I have either have boost leak somewhere, or it is the turbos. No obvious piping problems are evident. I proceeded to make a clip to determine wastegate rattle. Those that have heard, please input: Skip to these times: :10-revving engine, boost lines connected 1:06: revving engine, two small boost lines disconnected 2:20: boost lines reconnected again, revving engine Starting at the 2:20 time, you can really hear some rattle. What do you guys think? |
