Oil filter change - didn't swap the small O-ring, problem?

I did an oil change today and I didn't swap out the small O-ring that came in the oil filter box. Is this a problem? I inspected the one on the oil filter housing and it looked fine so I left it.

As long as you don't double up the rubber o'rings or leave them off you'll be fine.
Easy just to wrench off filter and replace if it bothers you.

BTW how many o'rings get replaced? My Mercedes had four and I don't remember how may my 2-had.

What are your oil drain intervals?

Why wouldn't you change it since it already comes with the filter?
