GT ride with 20" rims?
anyone put larger rims on their GT?
I am thinking of moving up to 20s because I think the car's size could stand the bigger rim size. My only issue would be the ride difference. Anyone have experience driving a GT with 20" rims and stock suspension? thanks |

My guess is pretty noticeable, but maybe not too much worse if you ditch the run flats. If you do it please post pics! I hear what you are saying, the 18s look puny and the 19s, which are not even offered on the 328i are barely adequate.

I have 19's on my car stock suspension for the summer running Continental DW Extreme Contact. The ride compared to my run-crap 17's is way better. I just put the stock tires back on for the winter and what a difference. If I had to do it again I would go with the 20's because the 19's just don't fill the wheel well up like I had hoped. The GT uses a different tire size then the f30 so you will have more sidewall with the 20s then say an F30 with 20's. I have ran 19's on my last 3 cars and I have never popped a tire or had any ride issues. Buy good tires and you wont have any problems. Buy cheap junk tires and be ready. I cant believe how people will spend money on rims and try to save a few 100 on running crap chinese tires instead of good quality.

I would have ran the DWS but they did not make a tire in the size I wanted. The DW are a very sticky tire and at 5k summer miles with my wife driving this car the tires measure 4/32 rims are staggered. The front's measure 8/32 so I will go through two sets of rears to one set of fronts during the term of my lease. On whatever car I get next either a f36 GC or a Panamera I will be running Michelin PSS which I have ran on a 911 and a Viper and they are the best tires made period. GOOD LUCK if you want a picture of my car PM me your e-mail and I will send it. Thanks
