Crap... Gas Door won't open

I have a 2014 328i M-sport with about 10k miles, and i discovered today when washing my car that the gas door won't "bounce" open when i push it in. I probably tried pushing it in like 100 times trying to release the latch, but for some reason it won't. I haven't had ANY problems with it before, and in fact i might have had the reverse issue in the past few months where i had to push the door 2-3 times to get it to close/latch properly. I live in Arizona so its not frozen due to temp. I don't want to break it by pushing too hard or too many times.

Can i ask someone on these forums a HUGE favor by providing a close-up cell phone pic of the inside mechanism of the spring/release latching mechanism inside the gas door?

I might be able to prod it open carefully with a wire possibly if i know where to head. And i don't mean to be pushy, but i need this ASAP as my gas tank is only about 1/2 full right now and i will probably be driving a lot this long Thanksgiving weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

son-of-a-gun ...

i guess you learn something new about your car everyday. Dayum :-) THanks for the quick reply.

Being that the door is just a manual push-open thing, i never woulda thought it would be tied somehow to the doors being locked or not locked.

Thanks!!!

There is apparently an internal release as well - in case you really do break it this weekend

it locks and unlocks with the car as otherwise it wouldn't be very secure if your gas tank is open at all times!

Lol. There's also a green toggle somewhere in the boot/trunk, I think it is on the offside, that's the emergency release.
