Clear Bra on leased car
Wondering how many of you who have leased the car and have no plans on buying it after lease end, are planning to get the clear bra protection. I also have the lease protection plan which covers upto $5000 in damage so pretty confusing for me as to get it or not.

I have clear bra on my car and wife's car but doubt I would put it on a leased car that I was planning to turn back to dealer.

I added Clear Bra it to my '12 E92 M3 ZCP lease with the thought that I may buy it at lease end as I love the NA V8. Hindsight 20/20, I wish I would have put the money towards something else...

this paint is soft. look at it the wrong way and it chips. i would rather not sweat bullets driving behind a truck (80% of the time) lease or not. ymmv.

I'm more than likely not going to buy the car at the end of the lease, but chose to put Xpel on the car anyway. My E92 had tons of rock chips in the hood, I couldn't bear to see that happen again. It was really beat up from the crappy roads here. I'll also be taking the car to the track at least a few times a year and would rather have the clear bra protection than messing around with painters tape or road wrap. I covered the entire front of the car... hood, bumper, fenders, mirrors, and headlights. It was $1550 to do the whole thing, which is kind of a lot to put in to a lease.
This is the first time I've done this with a car, so I'll see how it goes for the next 3 years and then decide if this is something I'll want to do on the next one. |

So what do dealers charge you these days for the clear bra for the M?

Mine was done by Joe at X-Treme Vehicle Coatings Inc. in Queens. He's listed on the Xpel website. The car looks great, you have to be inches away from it and look carefully at the edges the tell there is anything applied.

My car is leased and I put a clear bra on. Gives piece of mind. 50/50 about whether or not I'll buy car at lease end in 3 more years. Will all depend on any issues that will or will not arise.

Your lease terms cover common stone chips and small scratches as part of "normal wear," so my advice is to skip it and spend your money elsewhere.

I will be doing it on my owner's choice, simply because I am not 100% sure I will give it back after the initial lease is up and if I do I will use it as leverage towards the next M, they are likely going to certify this car and if it has a perfect front end, it will be that much more desirable to them.

I leased mine but put it on anyway as a piece of mind incase I buy it out. Car already got swiped from someone parking in front of me and has paid for itself by not having to respray the bumper as only the bra was damaged. Food for thought.

I agree the newer paints are super soft and can chip easily, lease or no lease I would install clear film on it, I did on my Mineral.
