Red rims ?

I'm refinishing my rims on my alpine white e92 with red leather and now I have to paint them. I love gloss black but it's so over done...

My cars not stock if it matters I've got an m3 front, mTech rear and csl trunk

Any thoughts on a white e92 with gloss candy red or a darker red CSL rim ? Too rice ?

Another "No!" vote on the red! Maybe gunmetal if you don't want to go black?

It all depends on your personality and since you pose the question. I say go for it. It really doesn't look at that bad.

Anthracite, black chrome, gunmetal. Just my opinions.

Red looks good too.

I'm not a fan of black wheels on any color car. Looks cheap to me.

Good luck with finding a color for your wheels. You'll be happy with your decision whatever u choose

I don't know man, I love the way my gloss black 199 19 inch BMW OEM rims look on my convertible- and apparently so do many other people

I had black rims on my car before it was "cool" to do it, and I'll be damned if I change it up just because a few people say it's "played out"

I think all of you are getting a poorly done plasti-dip "rim job" confused with the real deal (no offense to those of you that have done it, but I personally just couldn't- partly because I'm just not handy enough to do so, and partly because I already had black rims from the factory before plasti-dip was even around.)

Black wheels done right- on the right style rims- can make all the difference. Too many spokes for instance will definitely make it look muddy and not so good I think.

I guess it's all subjective.

That said, I'm powder coating my 18s soon for next year's season in either gunmetal or some other color just because I want to change it up- and I'm sick of getting banged up on these 19s and shitty tri-state roads

At the end of the day, you really have to take people's opinions with a grain of salt- and ultimately do in your heart what makes you happy.

Who cares what other people think when they're not driving your car around every day.

I mean for more critical things like wheel measurements and suspension components etc. I would certainly take an expert's opinion over my own.

Then you have the folks on here who come on with a question and get a bunch of opinions, then get all defensive and stupid and still do what they want anyway- wasting the time and energy of the forum members.

Ah, the joys of E90post

I agree DK, it's all preference. I've had my car just a few months and couldn't stand the stock look so I dipped them, spent 10 hours on Saturday, 4 hours on Sunday doing it so they came out really well. Just got my windows tinted yesterday so I'm riding black on black on black, and in my opinion it's beautiful.

OP, personally I would leave your rims finished in red leather.

Red looks really good.

There is a post in the Wheels section for a guy selling neon green rims... I've even commented I wish I had a white car for them.
