Redline in 1st & 2nd gear?

As I eagerly await the production & delivery of my M3, I'm wondering what the redline is in 1st & 2nd gear for the manual tranny. I live in a rural area with a max 50mph speed limit but many of the roads have a 35mph limit. One of the joys of driving my FR-S around here is legally winding it up from a stop since it redlines just under 40mph in 1st - I'm hoping I can do the same in the M3

Redline is the same in all gears: 7600RPM

I guess you meant to ask what is the maximum speed in each gear:

1st=42mph
2nd=75mph
3rd=113mph
4th=147mph
5th=top speed limiter

There won't be much joy in going WOT to redline in 1st as it will only result in endless wheel spin, unless that is your thing

I'd be careful thinking it is legal.

Your jurisdiction may have laws against displays of speed and such. My brother-in-law found this out the hard way. He thought that he was OK because he never broke the speed limit but still got a ticket for excessive display of speed (or something like that). Anyway, it may not apply where you are but you may want to check if it matters to you.

It's called "Reckless Driving" as you face the county court magistrate.

or "stunting" in some places.

Long story short, even if you keep it within speed limit you can get a ticket for driving too aggressively.

The only issue I had with the MT was lack of a smooth shift from 1st to 2nd. Redlining it here was never an option. I'm actually shocked it gets to above 40 in that single gear. It made no difference if I was in full efficient or full sport+, that's one tricky gear that I finally started to sort out after more time behind the wheel.

Will anyone let me drive their DCT for reference?

But Texas has the highest speed limit in the United States. Only place he could move that would be faster would be Germany (and a few other countries).
