OEM factory exhaust vs Performance Exhaust sound comparison

Good morning y'all, I finally had the chance to replace my factory exhaust with the PE. I took a couple of videos with my GoPro and merged them to one for you to check the sound comparison in case someone is interested (select 1080p so the sound comes out more clear).

I'm very very happy with the change , I used the carbon fiber tips, it combines better with my mineral grey imo. For me was a much higher investment due to my location, I had to pay international shipping and taxes, etc , BUT, I'm glad I did it.

Note: the car was warm on both videos.

Any questions, feel free to ask.

Cheers

Very interesting. Really takes the whine away at high rpm which I like. "Sounds" like less restriction to me.

Yep, I had the chance to kind of "test" it on an open road this Saturday and felt a little improvement on acceleration. I haven't tested it fully yet since my car is has only 500kms (like 310miles) and my local BMW dealer suggested that I should not push it above 4,000 rpms until I get to 2,000Kms (like 1200miles).

My main dealers running in suggestions where "The harder you drive it from new the faster it drives older" but I,m keeping it below 5000rpm til about the 1200 mark

Did you have it in sport mode to open up the valve both times?

MPE will sound even better after 1500kms.

I've also added sport cat DP and it improves the sound even more !

Thanks for posting up the videos, it sounds much better IMO with the performance exhaust. I have not seen a before and after video from inside the cabin of the car. What is your take on the sound differences from the inside?

I'm not gonna lie to you G-mann, our cars are so hermetic that inside the cabin with windows up, you will hear the sound of the PE but not too much. With windows down, that's another story.

Cheers Pave! Thanks for sharing. I like yours better than the BCS, like somebody said, the MPE has more character in its sound.

Oh, thank you for that suggestion too mate! Thing is that the JB4 is for USA spec M235's (320hp), mine's Europe spec (326hp), too scared to "try" it yet hehe

I'm in the UK with F20 m135i EWG car.

Jb4 works a treat on European cars.

How easy or hard is it to install a M-Sport exhaust on a 235 ?
Is it strictly unbolt clamps or do you need an exhaust/pipe cutter?
Are there gaskets for the junction points? Or do you use tube gasket compound?
