Vette beats M4 / M235 should beat M4
In retrospect to my OP, it is evident that the Ms cannot keep up with the vette; however, now I am really wondering if the M235 may not actually beat the M4 in street play. I am thinking it may actually beat it! I can take street curves actually faster in the M235 than in the Vette due to various size/dynamics; therefore I am quite sure that the 235 would beat the much larger Ms.

You might feel that you can take something faster in the M235i, but I highly doubt it. The physics of it is hard to argue, the Corvette has a lower COG, less weight, wider contact patch and better suspension.

Is this post just meant to raise a ruckus? Go drive the M and then come back with your thoughts. I've driven both, i'm pretty sure I know the answer.

"Street Play" sounds like something dirty you made up.
Take it to the track.

street curves/track curves, the M4 will still win over the M235i..

I mean the M4 has around 100 horsepower more and just 100lbs heavier...
I don't see how the M235 can be faster than either one.... it's like those believing the 228 has similar perf than the M235.... |

One think the M235 has - it seems to me - is a smallish frontal area. So acceleration at higher speeds in the M235 may be very good.
But yeah I would think the M3/M4 would destroy a 235. |

Ive driven both the M4 and M235i back to back....trust me no comparison...the M4 is a beast (both handling and straight line power)
I bought the M235i just because I wanted to get out of my 6mo old Audi (couldnt stand it) otherwise the M4 would have been mine. I plan on the M4 after a couple of years. However I will say the M235i is closer to my Lexus IS-F....with a tune it would crush the F M4> M235i in all aspects IMO

Yea, With the hp and full lock diff, M4 will take the m235 to school if driven properly
Is like my 2 yr old son...once in a while he'll run ahead of me but when I see him...I'll chase him down and give him a spank

I have a colleague M4 coming for swaps this Saturday. We are playing with my 235, his M4, and yes my vette (sorry for the American Car haters) at street performance. We are not taking these to track after all they are street cars not proper race cars: for track we use our moded, gutted, and crated mustang that is not licensed for street use.

The M4 is obviously better than the M235i at everything except the price. Now whether it's worth $25k more is a different story. Probably not unless you go to the track often.

We know how much you like your Corvette, but no need to try to sell us a car in every thread you post in. Most of us are car guys here, and know how fast C7s are.

And it's not just your opinion, the M4 IS > than M235i in all aspects, apart from the sheer size of it (bigger than I need it to be.

Seriously, Researcher, no one here cares about your Corvette... at least not enough to hear about it three times. You do realize this is a forum for the 2 Series. And since you HAVE a M235i, it would be way more awesome to hear about THAT car. Otherwise, go post on the Corvette forums - I'm sure they'd love to hear all about it.

I'm guessing the car just didn't gel with JSud, just as my A45 didn't gel with me. It lasted just 7 months. Anyone who thinks M235>M4 is either too passionate about his/her 235 or just plain silly cos it infers the M2 would >>M4 and BMW AG would never allow that.

I haven't liked Vette's since 1967, ugly as shit in my opinion and GM seals the deal. 26 million cars recalled by GM this year, need I say more.

There shouldn't even a question whether the M235i or M2 will be faster than an M3/4. In a straight line or timed lap, the M3/4 will be quicker. As you said, there's no chance BMW would let that happen. However, whether it'll be more fun than an 2 series platform, that's debatable and completely subjective. Another question would also be is it worth the premium over a 2 series platform? Again subjective, but for my needs, I think the 2er fits me better. The M235i was a hell of a car I thought.

Let's call it same weight! That's what's crazy, the 235i is heavy and it's not even AWD or something like that. |
