Cold weather starts
Winter is coming with sub-zero temps, is there a different way to start this car? Previous diesels were able to engage the glow plugs to warm the cylinders before starting. If I push the start button without the brake, will that engage the glow plugs?

You could just hit the start button once (foot off brake), wait 5 seconds, then start the vehicle. The glow plugs on these heat up super quick. Or you can just start it like normal every time, and it will wait the required seconds to heat up the glow plugs longer.

Also, the diesels have a heater in the fuel filter. And the diesels also have an electric heating element in the hvac so you get warm air almost immediately. |

Thought I read somewhere that once you insert the fob (or if CA fob is in range) it will activate the glow plugs even before the start button is pressed. There was a thread last winter about this.

Very rarely does the light come on to pause the immediate start.
