I just curbed one of my rims doing ED and will be interested in the responses to your question in case the insurance that BMW provides doesn't cover it.

By the way, I have replayed that grinding sound in my head every single day since.

I too curbed mine during ED. When turning it in the paper-work specifically says things like rock chips, windshield chips and scuffed wheels will not be replaced or repaired.

Here is to wishful thinking though.

I fucked up already too, since I was too busy laughing at a 328i owner for doing that same thing in front of me. I got it fixed and no one could spot the fuck up.

I'll check if I can find the info and if it's a chain with a shop in your area. Just remember while you are beating yourself up for this, SO many of us have fucked up already and most of us are not man enough to admit it!

I asked my CA what happens if I curb my wheels and he said "back up and do it again". But I sprung for the wheel/tire insurance so with my luck I will probably never curb a wheel. That's just how shit goes.

You shouldn't have an issue finding a wheel repair place.... especially in LA. Ask in the M3post Cali forums...

Sorry to hear that. Our black wheels must look awful when curbed. For the ED people who curbed I think it will be fixed. Scratches no but a curbed wheel is like having a collision with the curb and what I hear it's usually fixed at the VDC if reported to LoginOut.

Yep, it's a horrible, horrible sound. Find a good wheel repair shop and it should look as good as new.

I heard the same when I was turning my car in at LoginOut, VPC will fix a rashed rim. I had to run over a curb to get out of a parking lot in reverse, and got backed into by some BLACK car.

why would you even try parking in a tight spot? rule #1 for sports car owners, always make sure you park with plenty of room. That's what happens 99% of the time when you take that chance.

Hope you learn from this.

I curbed my rear driver side rim last month and I took it to two places and they both were not able to match the black finish to OEM spec. Apparently, the spokes are machined polished then glossed over with a black tinted clear coat and the specifics of the tint is hard to match. The second shop I brought it to was able to nearly match the other three rims but in direct sunlight, you were able to see that the rim didn't match the others.

It bothered me so damn much that I bought a new rim and will try my best to not curb anything again. I've avoided curb rashes with other cars before... let's see if I can do it again.
