Quicker Way to Access Sport+

Hey guys, is there any trick to get the car to go straight to Sport+ from eco pro or comfort modes? I find it a bit of a nuisance to have to click 3 times if I want to get the car moving quickly.

The car does not move any quicker in Sports Plus than it does in Sport. You may be able to use one of the radio preset buttons but U am not sure.

I can personally say that the car does move quicker in Sport+ than Sport due to traction control limiting throttle at lower speeds.

Does anyone think that such a thing could be coded somehow? I don't know much about coding

I can personally say that if it is quicker it is totally unnoticable.

My car defaults to comfort so its two clicks...It is a shame you can't customize the default setting (my friend just got an S3 and you can default to either dynamic or individual settings in the menu system).

Even my former M3 always defaulted to s3 for tranny. (I think this is to limit warranty claims)

Precisely. It's no big deal, really.

If the car is faster in sport+, that's news to me. A preset w/b nice, or better yet car should default to whatever mode u had it in last after power down.

When I first got the car I gave it a shakedown after break-in. I tried flooring it from a dead stop in sport vs sport+ to determine the differences. Cold tires sport+ will result in spinning wheels. Warm tires sport+ felt as though the car would pull up to 60 about a 1/2 second quicker. Maybe it was just a placebo but it does make sense that dynamic traction control would allow more power down in gears 1-3 than just sport alone.

Also, does anyone know specifically what moving the gear shifter left to m/s does when in Comfort or Eco Pro mode? Does it just put the transmission in sport without changing the chassis?

It would be nice if they at least gave you an option to set it your way even if it meant signing some waiver of liability. I mean you already confirm the disclaimer every time you get in the car.

There are a few of us that have track experience and Advanced driving lessons. We know how to handle a car at its limits.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Click, click - that's it. No big deal.

If you want to get the car moving quickly grab the stick and pull it into sport and floor it.

When how many times you have to click to get your preferred performance mode is an issue I have to claim #firstworldproblems.

Or spend more money and buy an M car with the M button on the steering wheel.
